October 17, 2019

The group show, “Site Cite Sight,” is on display in Gallery 303 in the Harris Fine Arts Center on campus now through October 23. Details and exhibition statement follow:

Site Cite Sight

A collective project by Placeholders

This exhibition stems from work conducted by the collective Placeholders around the idea of place. Artists meditated on questions such as what causes people to move to and from locations, what prevents people from moving to and from places, how do we categorize space and why, and what are the various components that help to define a place? The group traveled to and through locations in the American West to explore how land was used, marked, abandoned, occupied and ignored.

Sites visited:

  • Topaz Internment Camp
