STUDENT COMMUNITY

STUDIOS

Space to make art is essential to students in our programs. In addition to the classrooms and labs available for student use between classes, all Art Majors and Pre-Majors are encouraged to make and share their work in the Art Open Workspace, located in WCCB 2010 and open during West Campus' building hours. To reserve a storage shelf in the studio, students can visit the Art Office at WCCB 1100. West Campus lockers can be reserved for free with this form (limit one locker per student).

BFA and MFA students receive dedicated studio spaces in the JKB and B-66 buildings, enabling them to prepare a complete body of work for their capstone exhibition.

OPEN STUDIO EVENTS

Twice a year, towards the end of each fall and winter semester, the Department of Art holds its Open Studio events. Open Studios are a chance for friends, family and community to see the art that our students have made over the course of the semester, and to tour the spaces in which they work. Faculty assess students' efforts and award cash prizes to the winning studios each semester. Check out our calendar or follow @byuart on Instagram for dates and times!

CLUBS

Student-led clubs and associations are a great way to get to know other students. In addition to the longstanding Art Education club, past clubs have included Camera Club, Drawing Club, and Collage Club. Ask a faculty mentor about starting a new club tailored to your interests!

GEAR

Department of Art merchandise (hats, tote bags, shirts, beanies, and socks) are all available to purchase in-person only at the 2D stockroom, WCCL 130. See sell sheet here for prices and more information.
