M.F.A., University of Utah, 2006

Sylvia Ramachandran Skeen’s mixed-media sculpture and ceramics explore how tools, technologies, and other functional objects are organic outgrowths of the human psyche and spirit. She received her M.F.A. from the University of Utah in 2006. Her work has appeared nationally at venues such as the Society of Arts and Crafts in Boston, Pewabic Pottery in Detroit, the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) Convention in Portland, and at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. Before joining the faculty at Brigham University, she taught at the University of Utah in the ceramics, 3D foundations, and arts technology programs, as well as teaching at BYU as a visiting artist in 2022.
