Annual Student Show

In place of the traditional gallery exhibition, the Department of Art student show will take place online this year. Featuring a diverse array of student work and curated by department faculty, the virtual exhibition will run through the remainder of 2020.

Summer Workshops for Art Educators

The department’s new workshop series for local art educators, which launched earlier this year, has been postponed until 2021.

Fall Semester

BYU is planning for an in-person fall semester experience with adjustments for the health and safety of the campus community, including hybrid classes that combine in-person and remote learning, COVID-19 testing for sick individuals, contact tracing and the required use of face coverings by students, faculty, staff and visitors.

Art and Design Galleries

For summer term, we have resumed operation with a limited amount of physical exhibitions in the BF Larsen and Gallery 303. While we are not hosting receptions of any kind, you will find current artwork by art and design students. In light of the recent decision by the university to plan for an in-person fall semester, we are extending the exhibition proposal priority deadline from late June to July 20.

Campus Building Hours

The wood shop in room B315 is open again for regular hours: 9 a.m. — 5 p.m., Monday — Friday. A mask is required at all times.

For general updates on building hours and closures, including the HFAC, refer to the BYU website.

Faculty members are working closely with students to continue their education as normally as possible. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your professors.

We will update this page as new information becomes available.
